Alas, Poor Yorick

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Hamlet 2 is as funny as the trailer or the advance reviews. It’s been a sad season for comedies this summer. Hamlet 2  was a smash hit at Sundance 2008, which gives me hope. Here’s the plot (dreamed up by some South Park writers):  “When a high school threatens to shut down the theatre department, a failed actor-turned-drama teacher, played by Steve Coogan, decides to write a politically incorrect musical sequel to Shakespeare’s play.“ Even if it’s not quite as funny as it sounds, Catherine Keener and Amy Poehler are in the cast--worth the admission.
