Hanging Heart…
I am safe hanging my heart on
this limb…I am safe because comfort surrounds me…I am safe because the leaves
of friendship are there to cradle me if I should suddenly slip…I am safe
hanging my heart on this limb…I am safe for I am circled with love…I am circled
with faith…I am circled with belief…I am circled with hope…I am safe because I
am holding onto my own truth.

Welcome to From the
Inside Out…a place where we will explore
the power of positive affirmation writing from YOU to YOU.
This is the week that if you
haven’t already started your journal, you will begin to do so. Hopefully, you
have read the lessons that I have learned about affirmation journaling, and it
was helpful to you.
This journal is entirely
yours. Remember that it not only belongs to you
Personally, but it is YOU…your
thoughts, your dreams, your hopes and desires that you have for yourself. This
is a never-ending journey with your self.
GETTING STARTED
I hope you have found your
spot where you have decided to do your affirmations daily…and your perfect pen,
or pencil…even a crayon!!
That you have decided on your
journal…lined or unlined…Remember all of this is totally up to
YOU.
There are many different
techniques that you can use when starting this adventure. Starting small is the
easiest way to start that allows you to get comfortable with the process. Here
are a few examples of what I have learned and used over the many years of
writing affirmation journals.
1. Rapid writing:
Forget about grammar….just let words flow onto the page of your journal with
any thought you might have.
2. Talk to yourself:
ask yourself a question and then allow yourself to answer that question on your
page.
3. Write a letter:
to yourself from yourself either in the present or from yourself as an older or
younger age.
4. Set a timer: Do
not be afraid of a blank page…don’t sit to long and stare at it…set a timer and
give yourself 5 minutes. It is amazing how much you can write or doodle in that
time.
5. Make lists: list how
you are feeling and if you find some negative ones, find a way you are willing
to turn it into a positive one.
6. Reflect: I have
found that taking the time to reflect on what I have written about in my
journal allows me to capture the positive at the end of the week even more.
I will be sharing my
affirmation pages with you starting on Wednesday. I have been going over some
of my pages from the earlier journals to show you my process. Hopefully they
will give you a place to start if you are feeling a bit awkward. I will also
provide you with a question that you can ask yourself if you need a prompt to
get you started.
So, are you ready to start
your journey? I hope that you are ready to open yourself up to growth and
transforming. The key to being successful at this is the WANTING to learn and
discover your positive side. So, why wait any longer? Let your adventure
begin today!!
Artfully Yours,
Patricia
